Rotary is about Service Above Self, but it’s also about the people we serve alongside. Nights like this remind us that Golden Triangle Rotary isn't just a club — we're a Rotary family. 🤝
Thank you for making our first family dinner such a success. We hope this is just the beginning of many more opportunities to share a meal, share some laughs, and build stronger friendships together.

In attendance was 5 generations of Scouts and the support of Rotary International : Troop 1910 & 1920
Scouting is about so much more than badges and camping. It’s about building confidence, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, character, and a commitment to serving others. Those are the same values we strive to promote through Rotary.
It was great hearing about the opportunities available to young people and seeing the passion behind helping the next generation become leaders in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
And of course, we grabbed a few pictures along the way!

Golden Triangle Rotary was proud to support Christ’s Haven for Children at the Christ’s Haven Clay Shoot!
It was a great opportunity to come together, support an incredible organization, and put Service Above Self into action.
And of course… we couldn't let the day go by without highlighting some serious Rotary style.

Because apparently, Service Above Self doesn't mean Style Above Self.
Nothing says “I'm here to support a great cause” quite like showing up ready to make a difference AND making a statement while doing it!

This week at Golden Triangle Rotary, we had the privilege of hearing from Leigh Wambsganss about the incredible work being done through the Cindy Ramsey Center (CRC) right here in Fort Worth.
Leigh gave us an informative look at an organization that is doing so much more than providing food. The Cindy Ramsey Center works to empower neighbors in need with life-changing resources, including food assistance, resource connections, financial literacy, home repair, disaster relief, and other community support.
And the numbers tell an incredible story:
📦 3.4+ million pounds of food distributed 👨👩👧👦 232,960 individuals received food services 🛒 13,522 shoppers served through the CRC Market 👟 1,750 pairs of shoes provided 🧦 2,220 pairs of socks distributed 🎒 625 school kits provided 🙌 25,500+ volunteer hours contributed
Those aren't just statistics. Those are people, families, children, and neighbors whose lives have been touched by someone choosing to serve.
The Cindy Ramsey Center also currently serves approximately 1,300 families each week, with more than 500 volunteers helping carry out its mission.
A huge thank you to Leigh for sharing this important work with us and reminding us that sometimes the greatest impact starts simply by looking around our own community and asking, "How can I help?"

This morning, the Golden Triangle Rotary Club was honored to welcome Debbie Sharpe, Community Outreach Coordinator for Don't Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM). Debbie shared the incredible impact DF2FM has on families throughout our community by helping ensure that beloved pets don't go hungry during difficult times.
For many families, pets are more than animals—they're family. Through the generosity of volunteers, donors, and community partners, DF2FM helps keep pets in their homes by providing much-needed food to local food pantries and assistance organizations. It's a simple mission that makes a life-changing difference for both people and their furry companions.
Our Rotarians were proud to support this amazing organization by collecting donations of dog and cat food, helping stock the shelves so more families can receive the assistance they need. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this morning a success!
At Rotary, Service Above Self means caring for every part of our community—including the four-legged members of our families. Together, we're making Keller and the surrounding communities a more compassionate place to live.

This Memorial Day at Mt. Gilead, service met purpose.
The partnership between the Golden Triangle Rotary Club and the Keller Rotary Club came together in a powerful display of unity, remembrance, and community impact at the Mt. Gilead Memorial Day Event.
As the community gathered to honor those who gave everything in service to our country, Rotarians stood side by side to support the event, strengthen connections, and ensure that the meaning of the day was not only remembered—but felt.
From coordination and service to presence and participation, this collaboration reflects what Rotary is at its core: “Service Above Self.”
We are proud of this shared effort and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside our fellow Rotarians in honoring our nation’s heroes.
Tonight, the Golden Triangle & Keller Rotary Clubs had the absolute honor of celebrating our incredible Interact students from our local high schools. These young leaders continue to inspire us with their passion for service, leadership, and commitment to making a difference.
We proudly recognized our outgoing board members for the time, heart, and dedication they’ve poured into their roles—and we welcomed and inducted our incoming board members, who are ready to carry that torch forward. The future is in very good hands.

Dave brings a passion for service and community that aligns perfectly with our mission of “Service Above Self.” We’re looking forward to the impact he’ll make and the ideas he’ll bring to help us continue serving our community in meaningful ways.
But in 1945, he stormed the beaches of Iwo Jima as a 17-year-old U.S. Marine.
Don Graves, now 100 years old, carried a 72-pound flamethrower into one of the bloodiest battles in American history. When the battle ended, only 18 of the 335 Marines in his unit walked off that island.
This week, the Golden Triangle Rotary Club had the incredible honor of hearing his story — a story of courage, faith, sacrifice, and love of country.
Moments like this remind us that the heroes who shaped history are still among us… and their stories matter.

The Golden Triangle Rotary Club has been recognized with one of Rotary International’s highest distinctions—the 2024–2025 Club Excellence Award. This prestigious honor was formally presented by Rotary International President Stephanie A. Urchick and The Rotary Foundation Chair Mark Daniel Maloney, acknowledging the club’s outstanding service, leadership, and impact in the community.
The Club Excellence Award is given to Rotary clubs that demonstrate exceptional achievement across Rotary’s areas of focus, including community service, membership growth, support of The Rotary Foundation, and the promotion of Rotary’s values worldwide.
“Rotary clubs like Golden Triangle embody the very heart of what Rotary is all about,” said President Urchick. “Their commitment to service, innovative projects, and dedication to strengthening both local and global communities serve as an inspiration to us all.”

This past week, we had the privilege of helping a local senior who was facing fines from the city due to a tree in her yard. Our Rotary team stepped in to cut down the tree, mow the lawn, and take care of all the necessary yard work, including weed-eating. It was a true testament to the power of community and service!
At Golden Triangle Rotary, we believe in helping those who need it most, especially our seniors. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much to our community.

A True Inspiration: Nina Alvarez Receives Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award!

On October 24, 2024, Rotary International will join global health organizations to commemorate World Polio Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about polio and the efforts to eradicate this debilitating disease. For decades, Rotary has been a key player in the fight against polio through its End Polio Now campaign. Since launching its PolioPlus program in 1985, Rotary has helped immunize over 3 billion children across 122 countries, reducing polio cases by 99.9%. With the support of global partners, including the World Health Organization and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rotary continues to fund vaccinations, surveillance, and health worker training to prevent the spread of the virus in vulnerable regions.

Attention high school students looking for a scholarship Opportunity!
The GTRC is proud to announce the 4 way speech scholarship competition, where high school students (9th - 12th) can present their version of Roatary's "4 way test" and win a scholarship/
At the weekly Rotary meeting, the Rotary team got to hear from Bruce Schultse, District Disaster leader who discussed how the Rotary can help our neighborhoods in the event of disaster.
They raise money throughout the year to provide supplies/tools for area disasters. A team of volunteers act as first responders for any disasters that unexpectedly hit the area.

Dr. Westfall's dedication and commitment to making our community a better place is truly remarkable. His tireless efforts have left a lasting impact, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of his exemplary service.

Deanna, owner of Kids Kakes, has always had a desire to help out the community. Brandy Ward (pictured right) is credited with bringing in our newest member after meeting her at the Rotary's Wine Discovery event a few months ago.
We are thrilled to present this month's Citizen of the Month candidates, exceptional individuals who have demonstrated outstanding qualities and contributions to our community. These candidates embody the values of compassion, integrity, and leadership, and they have made a significant impact on the lives of those around them.
Each candidate has shown an unwavering commitment to service, going above and beyond to address the needs of others and make a positive difference in our community. Their selflessness, dedication, and passion for helping others have left a lasting impression on all who have had the privilege of knowing them.
On September 3, 2022, partnering with the City of Keller, Scout Troop 1910 & 1920, and family/friends of the Golden Triangle Rotary, the team set out to clean up Bear Creek Park 400 Bear Creek Parkway, Keller Texas.
What is it like taking a large team to Africa? It has probably been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. In mid February, I began leading Rotary members from all over the East Coast of the United States through Ghana. I’ve tried to give the team a warm Ghanaian welcome like I’ve received on my earlier trips. A large trip is a real blessing because each person sees Ghana and our work in a different way.
For years, Angalia Bianca had slept in abandoned buildings throughout Chicago. She stole. She did drugs. She spent time in and out of jail for forgery, theft, trespassing, and possession of narcotics. But after she landed in prison for the seventh time, something changed -- Bianca knew she wanted a better life. She just didn’t know how to make it happen.
Music has been an important part of leading an ordinary life for students at the Music School for Children With Disabilities in Honor of Paul Harris in Lublin, Poland. Founded by Rotary members, the school serves 20 students with various disabilities, including Down syndrome, autism, and visual impairments. The Rotary Club of Lublin-Centrum-Maria Curie-Sklodowska has provided funding with help from Rotary Foundation Matching Grants and the Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society, which houses the school.
Throughout India and around the world, Rotary clubs are celebrating a major milestone: India has gone three years without a new case of polio. The last reported case was a two-year-old girl in West Bengal on 13 January 2011. To mark this historic triumph, Rotary clubs illuminated landmarks and iconic structures throughout the country with four simple but powerful words, "India is polio free."

Once upon a time in the bustling city of Keller, there was a Rotary Club known for its unwavering dedication to community service.
What is it like taking a large team to Africa? It has probably been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. In mid February, I began leading Rotary members from all over the East Coast of the United States through Ghana. I’ve tried to give the team a warm Ghanaian welcome like I’ve received on my earlier trips. A large trip is a real blessing because each person sees Ghana and our work in a different way.
For years, Angalia Bianca had slept in abandoned buildings throughout Chicago. She stole. She did drugs. She spent time in and out of jail for forgery, theft, trespassing, and possession of narcotics. But after she landed in prison for the seventh time, something changed -- Bianca knew she wanted a better life. She just didn’t know how to make it happen.
Throughout India and around the world, Rotary clubs are celebrating a major milestone: India has gone three years without a new case of polio. The last reported case was a two-year-old girl in West Bengal on 13 January 2011. To mark this historic triumph, Rotary clubs illuminated landmarks and iconic structures throughout the country with four simple but powerful words, "India is polio free."
